Scott, I dont think it is valid... Basically it is a rectangle with 3 failed breakouts to the upside, and then 2 failed breakouts to the down side............... Its had more juice to the upside..... I would probe shorts if the red channel is breached then fails..... for a short term trade..... Alot of shorts got burnt in the past 2 weeks!

we are looking at 2 different charts. Mine is Nasdaq 100 and yours is the Nasdaq Composite

Is anybody at all concerned that the volume across the formation of the pattern is not "right?"

Ideally, but not always, volume during the advance of the left shoulder should be higher than during the advance of the head. This decrease in volume and the new high of the head, together, serve as a warning sign. The next warning sign comes when volume increases on the decline from the peak of the head. Final confirmation comes when volume further increases during the decline of the right shoulder.
Most of the "ideal requirements" are in place but the picture is a bit convoluted given we have four shoulders and 2 heads.
