Am going to do at least ONE thing, every day, to try and have less impact on 'ole mother earth. Today, I emailed Uline packaging company and asked them to stop sending their HUGE catalog ... which always ends up in the trash. I'm more than able to look online at their products. Also being aware of using less water, more recycled items and just not being so wasteful with simple things like napkins and cups. We CAN make a difference ... with each of us doing at least something, every day, to be more GREEN. Seeing the DVD "Winged Migration" which was filmed all over the earth ... gave me a new appreciation for this incredible planet. And if you want to STOP more junk mail, then go to www.greendimes.com, or help plant more trees at AmericanForests.org Best to all, GREEN Cookie and getting greener every day. :P

If only all the junk mail could be stopped in my mail box, several trees would be saved. But then those working in the paper industry and printing industry would lose some jobs. Trees can grow back, but economic hardship years for people can not be undone. So, I just go with the flow.

At some point, those reports will be optional and otherwise available online. They are now, after all. But it's a due diligence thing and it's got lawyers involved. They've conned managements and the SEC into thinking that such provides something of value to the rank and file shareholder. CC, one of the things you can do that might have significant effects is to aggressively support sustainable farming/agriculture. Go to your farmers market and get to know the best providers. You can organize your weekly menu around what's fresh and what your farmers will have. I buy my beef, chicken, trout, eggs, pork, and rabbit from either local farmers or the vendors who sell for them. All are either organic or sustainably raised. My lamb still comes from New Zealand. The local farmers just don't seem to get it, or at least get it at anything like a sane price. Sooner or later they will. If we can get enough of support for those farmers and growers, we'll get more of them. This decreases the demand for petro-chemical dependent farming products which improves our water, our soil, our air, and our lifestyles. Mark
