That wouldn't bother me so much, but the fact they said they would go bankrupt unless they eliminate the former rate freeze seems rather ludicrous. Many people in the state are seeing anywhere from 25% to 50% increases for homeowners and all businesses. The utility south of us in the state, has customers seeing 100% increase in their bills. They were supposed to deregulate and open their markets and prices would go down. Yeah, Right. They remain a monopoly, since most customers can't switch ( except some businesses), and even those businesses are only getting 10% decreases by switching, after they start with rates 25%-50% higher.

This is why I'm hedging against my own expenses.....got long engery/oil services and utls.

ps I really like how the ults are sitting for the inter-long term.

Oh and here in So Cal my energy bill goes Down by 30% in the summer when I start to run the air conditioning.! Now that's my kind of cool.

If anyone who lives in the So Cal area is interested... and is a So Cal Edison customer,.. they do have a cost incentive program that expires about this time every year .. and that's because we are so close to summer and Honeywell needs time to install hardware at your AC unit/s. Pretty sure whether you're business or residential you can have a monitor put onto your AC unit/s and just by doing so this allows you to get a sliding scale rate cut on your Summer utility bill. I have two AC units for my residence, rarely do I ever need to run both at the same time, however since both have "monitors" I get double the discount. ;) I think there is a max ton-age is 5-7 ish? What the "monitors" are used for is in case there is a brown/out nearby or some other emergency need for power they can shut off your units for something like 2-3 hours per day. Now has this ever happened,.. not to my understanding in the las 8-10 years. So don't pass up the 3-4 month savings out of Fear. And if your not even running your units much the first 2 months of summer you will really be getting a noticeable discount on your electric bill ...that may surprise you. ;)
