I have a lot of my money at interactive brokers and it is not invested, so I guess I am getting close to money market rates. What would be a good investment or a couple of investments to get a couple percent more than money market rates for this unused money?

couple percent more than 4.50-5% puts it in a risk category far different than money mkt. .... in my opinion
Fidelity has a couple fed tax free funds with $1.00 NAV that are hard to beat....FTEXX for example

IB had a program for accredited investors wherby they could invest in IB's commercial paper (highly rated). When I first found about this 4 years ago it was an attractive investment. The investor could lock in different maturity dates depending on their situation.
Maybe worth checking into.
