Wall Street prepares premarket to celebrate the highest overall rise in prices since Sept. 2005. Of course if you take out the things we buy the most of, like food and gas, and concentrate more on the the overall total-including things like personal aircraft-things look better this month-in the "core rise"-just too funny. I suppose the media will have a field day, putting rate cuts back on the table-while the Fed sits and worries about how fat the inflation baby they are feeding is getting. If this pesists-it is not going to end up pretty.

Funny isn't it? My wife keeps complaining about things continually going up at the grocery store. Prices keep rising all over the place. But somehow, we have benign inflation. Everybody knows (that is, those who REALLY follow this stuff) that the government has introduced stuff (like hedonic adjustments and taking the things out of the core that we really spend money on) to skew the data and that, as a result, they are lying to us but......nobody.....absolutely nobody that matters has the integrity to go public (as in over the airwaves) and tell the American people that this is being done. In fact, I haven't seen anybody say it on the airwaves period. It's like we need talk radio for economics so we have somebody to tell us what is really going on rather than just giving us the spin.

I was thinking the same thing. the numbers have to be a complete joke. Prices on numerous things just keep going way up. Tools, Tires, Paint, Wood, Clothing (even), Appliances, you name it. What the heck is in the core number ? bubble gum ? Computers ? IPODS ? Wait...no. gum and candy have risen lately too.

Capital equipment companies keep raising prices too in many industries. The whole thing is a laugher and the numbers should just be ignored. And prices of solar panels are falling. Evrybody buys those , right ? ;)
