tanks.......must be a ton of indexes out there to trade.....the russell has been out performing the spooz by a mile....

rates hafe nothing to do with the stock market...geeziz.......ive been short bonds and long the spooz for a very long time


Can't argue with you on that one. Those associating bond crash with real estate crash and economic meltdown and hence a stock market meltdown have been wroong for a while now. And those associating bond rally with depression have to now deal with twin problems - losses on long bond positions and short stock positions. :blink:

I think it would be more accurate to say that sometimes bonds and stocks correlate and sometimes they don't and that right now it's one of those periods where they do. A yield of over 5.5% on the 10-year will affect stocks -- right now. How long the correlation will last, I don't know.

Chief, research indicates that the market in fact trades lower on overcast days in NYC.
