Not sure of the date, but apparently all older style TV's will soon need a special converter, as high definition will be the way we ALL go (by 2009? Not sure of exact date). No more lousy / squiggly picture ... it is either perfect or off. I'll STILL watch as little as possible. C.C. :)

unless you get TV using your antenae then you should be ok with your cable box. You won't need a convertor so you can keep your old tv for awhile.

I find it amusing that our government can't control it's spending, privatize social security, get a handle on medicare, simplify the tax code, no trim outlandishly wasteful spending, but they CAN mandate that we all get perfect TeeVee signals. I'm just so pleased. Wankers... M

Hi Mark ... I agree. But it makes perfect sense, since it is HOW they (power mongers) control the masses. Jeepers, I sound paranoid, but those ridiculous news shows DO sway the masses ... and those giant dripping hamburger ads from Wendy's and enormous greasy pizza photos etc make sure that obesity continues and drug companies still have bodies to pump their garbage into. It's the old 80 / 20 rule ... 20 percent of the powers that be control 80 percent of the sheep that sleep. Ahhhhhh America ... the BEST and the worst of all worlds. Gotta love it. ;)

Kind thoughts, C.C. :P
