When I do swing trading it is based on a structure that I developed to make my decisions mechanical. The structure consists -in a nutshell- of 60, 180 min charts, of trend indicator(averages), an extremes indicator(volatility bands) and some oscillator. The swings have to be qualified by the oscillator crossing certain values. So i don't just look a a chart formation but a structure where the swing peaks and valleys have been picked out by the oscillator. Trend lines can only be drawn to qualified swing highs and lows and the qualified highs and lows can be used as stop loss points. Of course I fit this into a daily structure and many other considerations coe into play. Best seems to be to enter after a few countertrend swings of the intraday with the daily swing structure intact. Hope this helps, F&D
