How is this a good thing for BAC?.. when the ARMs reset there will be more forclosures.
Suppose BAC has a few Billions at stake if CW files for bankruptcy? CW will still face problems in the future.

How many of those does Countrywide HOLD and how many do they originate and how many do they package and sell?
The bottom line is, someone big and smart is willing to spend big money on this business.
Pay attention. Someone ALWAYS knows more than you do in this business.

CW has about $180 billion in assets. Most of them are likely mortgages they can't sell.

7.27% interest is hardly a good deal. Why didn't CW Bank go to the window and borrow at 5.75?

The market will do it for you. No need!
Bottom line though is watch what they do, not what they say.

What BAC did was to have invested $20, $30 billion in CFC bonds. They has to bail BAC out just like long term capital. This is not a smart investment. Just to cover their @ss for now. The trouble is far from over.
