Interesting to watch the Canadian vs U.S dollar. How long can this go on? It's been ages since I've seen these at par. Any more and I might have to freeze my little butt off, and move back to Canada.

C.C. Been awhile since loonie and dollar par that's for certain. However, the conspiracy groups have been having a field day with loonie/dollar par. That's the signal to begin the annexation of Canada by the US. :D  Got gold? Best to you

According to CNBC it was at par 31 years ago.

The loonie is probably only going higher and higher. They have the oil, they have the gold, they have the fresh water, they have the land, they have the health care system, they have up-to-date infrastructure, they haven't wasted their resources on worthless wars, they're friends with darn near everyone in the world, they have strong ties to Asia (Vancouver is practically becoming little Hong Kong), and with global warming they'll have the weather so it's even unlikely you'll freeze your little butt off.
:)

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

 :D  yes ... maybe I'll go back home in 20 years, for my elderly retirement and global warming will allow me to have a warm little Canadian butt. That would be nice ... but WHAT am I going to do without Whole Foods Market, live Willie Nelson concerts and other gems in the Austin music scene ?? Can I survive?

(and 31 years ! Wow - had no idea it has been that long since being at par ... interesting)
