Dog Saves Family From Fire Blamed on Cat

By Associated Press
document.write(getElapsed("20071011T020007Z"));Wed Oct 10, 10:00 PMUPDATED 10 HOURS 3 MINUTES AGO

GREENVILLE, Maine - Thumper, a black Labrador retriever, is getting credit for saving a Greenville man when a fire swept through his home.

Roland Cote said his wife and their 7-year-old grandson were away when the blaze started early Sunday in a converted two-story garage. He said Thumper grabbed him by the arm to wake him, leaving just enough time for him to dial 911 before fleeing the fast-moving fire.

While the dog is the hero, a cat is the bad guy in this story.

Cote said the fire marshal investigator believes the blaze was started when Princess, the family cat, tipped over a kerosene lantern. Cote says he and his pets escaped safely, but he says Princess did get her tail singed by the flames.
WOMEN & CATS WILL DO AS THEY PLEASE, AND MEN & DOGS SHOULD GET USED TO THE IDEA.
A DOG ALWAYS OFFERS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. CATS HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT!!

 ... cute picture. Maybe a rabbit is better. I've owned one for a few weeks. He's hilarious and affectionate. Problem when I first got him was the litter box ... he was completely litter box trained ... but I didn't know that rabbits poop almost non stop (high fibre, hay diet). I disliked changing that box all the time and it was messy and worse still, the rabbit sometimes layed down in the box (on top of feces - gross!). So, I just patented a new design for a rabbit litter box. It works GREAT. It is a simple perforated grate that fits inside a small, conventional cat litter box, but it is elevated with four small struts, so the rabbit walks on top and the round poop and urine falls to the pan below. It is SOOO simple, but there is nothing like it on the market and no patent on the specific concept (until now :P ). It is cleaner (rabbit can't lay in feces), looks better (poop is virtually out of sight), less time consuming (can change far less frequently), and cheaper ... can use with very few pellets or NONE at all (just newspaper or nothing). Also no heavy bags of litter to buy or discard. And I think I've found an affordable injection mold guy. If simple post-it notes can be a multi-million dollar idea, maybe rabbit poop is worth a few cents. And besides, this is FUN!!! :P Best to all, C.C. (posted Oct 11th, 2007)

Now have a name for my new, patented rabbit litter box - I'm calling it the "Bunny Loo" :P Who knew I'd end up as a poop box mogul ? B)
