Yuri, I lived there :)
Whats the unemployment rate in Russia ? about 20% at least ? Why is the population shrinking ? Because of good things happening in the country ?

.

Well, brutha... :)

When my Russian friends say something bad about Amerikoses, I'm the most agressive defender of America. I say, "What a hell do you know about this country? It's the most brilliant country in the world. Period!"

When American talks low about Russia, I do the same.

Why? Because I like these two great countries very much. I understand them both. My kids are Russian/American. My friends are on the both sides of the world. I live half in California, half in Moscow. Don't try to push me one way or another.

P.S. Unemployment is 5.6%. 2007 is the first year of population increase. Lot's of good is happening.

I hope you aren't slacking and planning to keep making your personal contributions to population growth. They need it over there. "For Mother Russia !" :)

Why not? My wife is planning, I'm thinking. :)

How're you doing in the States? I hope you're quite happy. If not... think about Russia. Russians pay to expats the top bucks in the world. I know many Americans (from AAS school) who pray to stay in Moscow as much longer. ;)

I'm doing just fine :)

Besides my wife doesn't speak Russian, so it would be hard for her to move there. Kids can only put a few words toghether. I'm not much of a teacher :)

OGM, I'll tell you a story. We have friends. HE is American working for top 5 investment corp (from Sueese). HE speaks perfect Russian because SHE is Russian. They were/are happy family living just one block from us in Santa Monica, CA. SHE were not crazy about Russia at all. When we moved back to Moscow, SHE said we're insane. SHE called us in May, "We're moving to Russia because HE got a job as a head Russian office of that Sueese corp". We can't believe having in mind their negative thoughts about Russia and their SOLID lifestyle in CA... $4mil house, best private school for kids and all other bling-blings. I have no idea how much money HE got in Russia. But it must be just HUGE. Your wife will learn Russian in 2 weeks if you get such salary. ;)

Discl: Most of my best friends are Russian, I am 1/4 Russian/Polish, married to a German. I dont really understand all the bashing - I think Russians and Americans are very similar, more similar than Americans to any other European group, including the English. But it is sad to me, the Russian "little" people have alwys been screwed by the rulers, democracy didnt help - but in America, it is really the same now, isnt it? Simply said, Russia is advancing economically, the US is declining. We really should be working more on our friendship with Russia than pandering to China, since I believe Russia sould be our natural ally. And yes, (rhetorical question) why is it the US doesnt tell China what to do and insist on a democratic leader there, in the way it does against Putin? as to your friends kids, the learning available in public schools in Russia is better than in most public and private schools here. peace, klh
best,

good question...

I think because US is going to attack Russia first, China later.

Right now America is building the nukes program around Russian boarder, and taking power on the post-Soviet field through so-called orange and rose revolutions. Why? They're getting ready for war.

Only one thing could save Russians... if they make a deal with China. But Russians are not crazy about China. They wish to work with America because Russians are more European than Asian. But America is willing to take everything for nothing breaking all promisses as usual.

If America will act the same way, I guess Russia and China will stay together.

Yuri, not only do I hope you are wrong, you must be wrong on this. it would not only be suicidal, but impossible (economically). The Iraq war has already destroyed our capacity to wage another war, and worse, to even defend ourselves.
