There was a considerable jump in cpci today and still extremely low readings on cpce. The ratio between the two is at a considerably high level albeit its been higher in the past 6 months.
Hi rkd80, good to hear from you; thanks for the heads up on the CPCI and CPCR. Today the CPCI skyrocketed .67 to 2.00 on a day when the INDU and SPX tagged new all-time-highs. IMHO, this is suggestive of puts being bought by the TPTB who at the same time were busy distributing stocks and/or stock-index futures from their short-term inventory to the insouciant public, traders, and fund managers who were becoming more euphoric as they were exhorted Newspeak-style by the worldwide media and their Wall Street cronies to buy stocks now! The CPCE rose a miniscule .02 to a still low .50 on a day of very poor breadth on the NYSE and the NASDAQ. This was reflected by today's poor NYMO and NAMO results. The CPCI:CPCE ratio of 4.00 is redolent of the slightly higher ratios at the market tops earlier this year; see the CPCI:CPCE daily and weekly charts below in addition to the CPC, CPCI, and CPCE charts etc. Note, the CPCI:CPCE daily StochRSI is banging on the ceiling at 1.00 similar to previous CPCI:CPCE tops (see the chart) that were coincident with previous market tops. In addition the CPCI:CPCE is close to the top of its upper BB on both the daily and weekly charts. The "rally" continues as the market infrustructure decays. "The emperor has no clothes." Caveat emptor!

Hi Brikie86, nice to hear from you, welcome to the board. Thank you for the informative comparison chart of the performance of the SPX compared to the CPCI:CPCE. The chart confirms my comments to rkd80 above regarding the correlation of the CPCI:CPCE ratio to market tops and bottoms especially when the CPCI:CPCE reaches extreme highs or lows. Here's an interesting look at CPCI:CPCE when compared to market price:
