As I was saying, expectations are absolutely HUGE.
Everyone and his brother expect earnings to beat the estimates, and instead of 3.6% increase everyone expects close to 8%.
With about 10% of the S&P reported so far, earnings are up about 4-4.5%. Yes, they are beating estimates, but not as much as everyone was hoping.
The proof of that is the market reaction to the reports.
today's examples..... JNJ down, KO down, MER down.
MCD pre-announced better then expected result ... down.
And so on. Expectations are too high, there will be more dissapointments.

INTC and YHOO earnings disappoint. Both are down in AH.
Tomorrow should be interesting.
