10-year yield is essentially at the same yield (2.48%) when the Bank of Japan and the ECB started QE. Over the same time, the SPX is up 900 points.
And China probably built another 500 skyscrapers, sitting empty...

Then bonds should have gone up.
They did, relative to where they would have been otherwise.
What matters is that others were selling (what the CB's bought) and those funds were, and are, being redeployed.

The VIX was headed down into about 12:30, with the indices moving up - then the VIX shot up after that and went on a tear while the indices continued up like nothing happened. Odd.

It pretty much defined anti war sentiment in the 1960's...I'm very surprised you've hadn't heard it before.
I'll add another one from the mid 80's that goes along the same lines...just a different generation.
You'll also note in the lyrics that the play hasn't changed much since that time...only the players.
