The 3/15/23 AAII readings are as follows: Bulls 19.2 Neutral 32.4 Bears 48.4. Most of the

time the AAII readings don't give a signal one way or the other. However, these current

readings bring the AAII stuff up on my radar screen to be watched more closely, A ST

bottom signal typically occurs when the Bull reading is at 20 or below while at the same

time the Bear reading is at 50 or above. These current readings are close to giving a ST

bottom signal but aren't quite there yet..

I have no idea what to make of AAII, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

I agree with you that the AAII readings don't tell the whole story. This is why I look at

other stuff as well. Early last week the MACD Histo(2,10,14) on the following daily

charts began rising: SPX, SPY, BPSPX and SPXA50. Also, on Mar. 13th the RSI(14)

on the daily VIX chart hit 70 giving a top signal for the VIX. The last time it did that

was during the last week of Sept. of last year. And, obviously, the fundamental factors

play an important role relating to mkt direction. I'm as bearish on the fundamentals as

you could ever imagine. However, as the legendary Economist, John Maynard Keynes,

said, "The key to investment success is doing what other investors do shortly before they

do it", or as my favorite stock mkt quote says, "Don't fight the tape".
