I just downloaded the Google Chrome browser. I like it. It looks to be faster than Firefox and the interface is a bit cleaner. Rich

I agree, we have given up on FireFox and IE, Chrome or a Lenux is the future. It also hooks up to level two data better as well. Best, Islander

Google Chrome loads fast and operates fast. The one thing I do not like is there is currently no way to set default font size for viewing. Since I like bigger letters for ease of reading, I have to keep hitting Ctrl+ each time a new page loads. I have also read somewhere that Mozilla Firefox has better security features than Chrome. I have no way to verify that claim.

I run all three of the majors. Like it or not, none are perfect. Firefox is still my go-to, but some pages and some applications just run or read better on I.E. As of a few months ago, Chrome had promise but many sites did not support their apps on Chrome and occasionally I'd run into a problem. Firefox just seemed to be more consistent. This may be changing. Geeks feel free to weigh in with the latest. M

I still like Mozilla Firefox best.
I couldn't get used to Chrome, but maybe just because it's newer.

Roger's link above has links to all available browsers. What I don't understand is how do these developers make money since the browsers are free?

I thought the same thing when Google was "Overpriced" at $100.

I missed the advertising side of browsing.

Type "Stock Trading Software" into google and you'll se 11 paid ads. The first 3 links are sponsored, additionally look at the right side banner at all of the paid ads.

Whenever you post anything here on TT, the first to read it is the Google Bot which then places an appropriate ad in the top banner!

But the same ads come up when I use Firefox. So what is the advantage in developing a browser?

So what is the advantage in developing a browser?

There are a few ways to make some money.
Each time someone uses the wee google search bar, the Mozilla Corporation gets a bit of cash.

Here's what Firefox did to get a cut of that advertising cash:
"What the Firefox web browsing software application did was that it entered into a contract with Google whereby the search engine became the default search engine of the Firefox web browsing software application. This enabled Google to expand its market base.

The developers of the Firefox web browsing software application received a tidy sum from money that Google paid to the Firefox Corporation. This was the primary reason why the Firefox web browsing software application ended up earning a profit for the Mozilla Corporation."
