Keep in mind , a lot of stress will be releived on next week, when the new 200 bil programm for broker-dealers comes in effect.

Too bad BSC didn't last that long...

When the Fed cuts another 50 or 75bps the market will probably tank a bit further in fear though...

"People realized that Bear Stearns just came out the other day saying everything was fine," said Paul Nolte, director of investments at Hinsdale Associates. "So, two days later, why would they need this funding from the Fed and JP Morgan? If it's like that for them, what is it like for Merrill Lynch or for Thornburg Mortgage?"

200 billion is a lot of money but, if more situations like BS come along, it will be offset quickly by monies needed to shore up the ibanks solvency issues.

I've said many times, these banks are lying about their situation regarding tomorrow for them and only telling what coming clean on things as they become yesterday.
