the neophyte and retail nature of stock market is evident in these wild churnings...the newly minted shorts are scared, sometimes rightly so, and fuel what is known as shorts rally..sometimes it just bunch of sheep running helter-skelter....
the eur.usd today, for example, did now show such great excitement nor did the adult bond market go in a tizzy.....
as for fundamentals, my confoundment about the frenzy, in opening dollar swap lines that was recently closed by fed (oops), was also shared by krugman...

this tells you it is so easy to steer the stock market ..'em following helter skelter.....
