ObamaCare's Present for the Young and Healthy

The younger workers have even more reason NOT to participate...as they will find out.

New health care rules will force insurers to raise rates for 18 to 24 year olds by 45 percent. Young people between 20 and 24 will pay 50 percent higher than older workers even though they earn far less. 25-year-old earning $33,000 today will see insurance premiums increase 42 percent.

Young people apparently missed that detail about who is paying for Obamacare. They don’t seem to realize that being forced to get insurance coverage is actually a clever way to make them pay for other people’s health insurance.

"You can keep your doctor, you can keep your current coverage."

I guess this was not all that well thought out... Or was it?

Single payer was the plan all along

Companies dump spouses from coverage...
By denying coverage to spouses, employers not only save the annual premiums, but also the new fees that went into effect as part of the Affordable Care Act.
Such exclusions barely existed three years ago, but experts expect an increasing number of employers to adopt them: “That’s the next step,” Darling says. HMS, a company that audits plans for employers, estimates that nearly a third of companies might have such policies now. Holdouts say they feel under pressure to follow suit. “We’re the last domino,”

IT'S STARTING: Florida 'Doesn't Have Enough Doctors'...

TALLAHASSEE Brace yourself for longer lines at the doctor's office.
Whether you're employed and insured, elderly and on Medicare, or poor and covered by Medicaid, the Florida Medical Association says there's a growing shortage of doctors — especially specialists — available to provide you with medical care.
And if the Florida Legislature goes along with Gov. Rick Scott's recommendation to offer Medicaid coverage to an additional 1 million Floridians — part of the Affordable Care Act that takes effect next January — the FMA says that shortage will only get worse.

SUBWAY Founder Slams Regulations: 'If I Started Today, SUBWAY Would Not Exist'...

President and founder of Subway Fred Deluca described some of the challenges payroll tax increases and Obamacare have presented small business franchisee owners Wednesday on CNBC.

Deluca said the number one issue facing Subway franchisee owners is how Obamacare will impact their expenses, noting any increase in costs will be passed along to the consumer through higher prices.

Additionally, when asked about the modern business climate for young entrepreneurs, the Subway founder stated “Subway would not exist” if he started it today due to onerous government regulations:

SIMON HOBBS: It’s 13 years since you wrote the book “Start Small, Finish Big” which was about grass roots entrepreneurship. Do you think the environment for those chasing the American dream by setting up their own business has gotten worse or better in those 13 years?

FRED DELUCA: It’s continuously gotten worse, because there’s more and more regulations. It’s tougher for people to get into business. Especially a small business. I tell you, if I started Subway today, Subway would not exist, because I had an easy time of it in the ’60s when I started. I just see a continuous increase in regulation.

It is such a shame!

One can only imagine a world without Subway.

How else would people stuff a vaste amount of crap into their gullets.

I have to admit I did share half a subway about a decade ago.

It was unpalatable and undigestible and I have never had any inclination to retry that episode.

To see it collapse would be wonderfull for all I suspect.

"Sitting is the new smoking"

Don't just sit there. Really.
'The chair is out to kill us,' a Mayo doctor says. Several studies point to the health risks of too much sitting.
A study published in the journal Diabetologia in November 2012 analyzed the results of 18 studies with a total of nearly 800,000 participants. When comparing people who spent the most time sitting with those who spent the least time, researchers found increases in the risks of diabetes (112%), cardiovascular events (147%), death from cardiovascular causes (90%) and death from all causes (49%).

"Sitting is the new smoking," says Anup Kanodia, a physician and researcher at the Center for Personalized Health Care at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center.

Every hour of TV that people watch, presumably while sitting, cuts about 22 minutes from their life span, the study's authors calculated. By contrast, it's estimated that smokers shorten their lives by about 11 minutes per cigarette.

A study published last year in Diabetes Care showed you can improve your glucose metabolism with a two-minute walk every 20 minutes.

Not only is sitting lousy at calorie burning, but it has been shown to suppress the production of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which is essential for turning bad cholesterol into good. Sitting can also lead to insulin resistance and, therefore, trouble metabolizing sugar. All these strikes against it help to explain, at least in part, its association with heart disease and diabetes.

Famed Baltimore neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson addressed the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday morning on healthcare. Dr. Carson often criticized Obamacare and government intrusion in healthcare while President Obama sat in the audience. Dr. Carson encouraged a program where newborn babies are given health savings account as an alternative to Obamacare.

DR. CARSON's 43 second health care plan:

Here's my solution: When a person is born, give him a birth certificate, an electronic medical record, and a health savings account to which money can be contributed -- pretax -- from the time you're born 'til the time you die. When you die, you can pass it on to your family members, so that when you're 85 years old and you got six diseases, you're not trying to spend up everything. You're happy to pass it on and there's nobody talking about death panels.

Number one. And also, for the people who were indigent who don't have any money we can make contributions to their HSA each month because we already have this huge pot of money. Instead of sending it to some bureaucracy, let's put it in their HSAs. Now they have some control over their own health care."

Oh dear, lol.

DR Carlson is a nightmare.

He is not only an imbecile, but proves it by his stupid pronouncements.

I find him hilarious at best but sadly disturbing.

Carson is the funniest thing I have heard.

No sensible person can listen to his nonsense and keep a straight face.

It does show that those deluded by their simple minds can be persuaded to acquiesce to anything.

Hitler proved it and its still working sadly.
