Budapest on the brink: Thousands of migrants shouting 'freedom, freedom' in tense stand-off with police who stopping them boarding trains to Western Europe

Budapest station was evacuated yesterday morning as thousands of migrants tried to reach Vienna and Munich

Protests were staged and about 100 police officers wearing helmets and wielding batons guarded the station

Hungarian government spokesman said the system 'has completely failed' and 'is collapsing in front of our eyes'

The country complained that it has been made a 'scapegoat' as it struggles to cope with arrival of 156,000 migrants

Otherwise considered one of the most enthusiastically forgiving and multicultural nations in Europe, Sweden reacted with horror to a double murder in the nation’s largest IKEA store last week by an Eritrean immigrant.

The attack seems to have reset the national conversation regarding immigration and integration, with even steadfastly establishment newspapers now questioning the conventional wisdom as peddled by the left-wing Social Democrat government.

One of the most remarkable developments in Sweden over the past week since the brutal and seemingly random IKEA murder by an Eritrean immigrant is the shift in mood.

It appears that Swedish people may now be questioning whether the right reaction to immigrant violence towards native Swedes is for the police to step up protection of immigrants, and for IKEA to ban the sale of kitchen knives

Sweden is to reintroduce border controls at its southern frontier from midday today, suspending the ‘Schengen’ free movement agreement with neighbouring countries Germany and Denmark.

The move is a significant u-turn for the grand coalition government led by left-wing Social Democrat Stefan Löfven, who just two days ago slammed the centre-right ‘Moderate’ party for suggesting the country control its borders.

Comment section:

"This shows how irresponsible the whole policy towards 'migrants' has been across much of Europe. Instead of sticking to international law, which says that refugees should claim asylum in the first safe country they come to, leaders of countries like Germany and Sweden actively encouraged people to make long long journeys to get there. And it seems to me that unless you make a clear policy statement, stick to it and administer it fairly, you are just encouraging people to take more and more risks.

What happens when winter comes and people are left to survive overnight in tents? I honestly have lost all respect for many of our leaders, who seem more interested in some vanity project whereby they preside over great waves humanity trying to go hither and thither instead of facing the problems head on.

Like it or not, Sweden and Germany have blood on their hands."

“.. in a democracy, leaders who dismiss and denigrate widespread concerns soon find themselves ex-leaders."

"Everywhere in the Western world there is a fast-growing constituency for new kinds of immigration and refugee policies.

If anything is shameful, it is the shabby, thoughtless, and arrogant elite consensus that has to date denied that constituency a responsible political leadership"

Merkel's Migration Problem:

Million Refugees Hit Europe

Turkish Mafia, Banks Pave the Way

If Turkey or Germany really wanted to solve the migration problem, the problem would be solved.

However, there's too much ignorance in Germany and too much graft money in Turkey.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is too darn stupid or too darn arrogant to do anything about the problem.

Besides, there's simply too much money to be made by the Turkish mafia and Turkish banks for anyone in Turkey too give a hoot.

Wave of refugees to Europe an "organised invasion" says Czech PM

Czech President Milos Zeman has called the current wave of refugees to Europe "an organised invasion", adding young men from Syria and Iraq should instead "take up arms" against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) group.

"I am profoundly convinced that we are facing an organised invasion and not a spontaneous movement of refugees,"

And how does Germany deal with these people fleeing war and poverty?

"If you've heard this story before, don't stop me because I'd like to hear it again," Groucho Marx (on market history?).

Police in Norway proclaim 'Oslo is lost'

In 2015, there were 50 rape reports filed in Gronland, where, like all of Oslo, 100% of rapes of native Norwegian women by strangers are committed by Muslims.  Across Norway, as with all of Europe, women dare not go out at night alone, the risk of rape is so incredibly high.

Also in 2015, robberies in Gronland averaged one a day.  In the past ten years, more than 4,000 people have been robbed, often right near the Gronland police station, which is in an immigrant ghetto.

40 years ago the police in NYC were as convinced it was the woman's fault in a rape case as the Moslems in these reports are - that is the way of the world - Norway has been a notable exception. It takes a concerted effort to teach that a women acting or dressing different from your idea of the way she should means she is lookin for something - my goodness - the 20 somethings dress in ways I would have never countenanced today.

but do not mistake this populist spin for what is behind the invitation to immigrants - govts are taking care of their big employers who want cheap labor - so Germany doesnt have the various visa systems we have in the US and they can harvest kudos for humanitarian reaction to a crisis by inviting the immigrants in - and believe me - there are a lot of Muslims that are appalled at what has happened - and are afraid for their daughters too. but Westerners dont seem to differentiate very well and the most ill educated are also the most likely to take any risky job for the lowest possible wage.  Germany did not have a minimum wage until 2015 and right until then it was paying many - including Germans - one euro an hour - the antidote for having to give out welfare - in a country that hasnt enough living wage jobs for their own people. as Roger's article points out - and I have seen it in NYC - immigrants will sleep in 3 shifts in a 1 BR apartment to make ends meet - something most Americans dont think they should have to - but it keeps the RE values up and the NY RE kingpins that are the darlings of the political scene in clover. it is a cycle and it has been this way before. RE price to rent values in Europe have been ridiculous for a long time - like NYC and SF - which is why there is a lot of rent regulation over there.

A Swede addresses the Swedish ruling class:

Extremely naive political parties are still in charge.

We are ruled by politicians that buy favorable publicity in the press using taxpayer money.

They spend huge amounts of money on failed mass immigration integration projects.

While they themselves buy their way out of multiculturalism by living in a house in an all Swedish area.
