Definitely not standing 6 feet apart. I was applying for a mortgage, and have just been told they shelved it because I no longer meet requirements. Now I have to fiddle with some finances before they will re-initiate it.

Shucks, they could have just showed up at the N.Y. F'eds... they are taking all kinds of fake collateral...
Today they wouldn't have even had to stand in line...

Is this a common occurrence throughout the US?
I haven't seen this going on where I am.

I'm tempted to just say "wait a minute."
But I suppose it matters if you live in a state with a stay-at-home order or not. Traffic is sparse in stay-at-home states.
Alas, not all are. Everyday I look a the map below in hopes the entire country will shut down [redacted politics by moderator] As long as the country doesn't completely shut down this will likely not be defeated and when Trump decides the numbers are low enough in the states that have shut down to open up everything, the next-six month wave of this pandemic will probably come out of a new Wuhan like Fargo or Little Rock.

Diogenes,
Thank you for sharing this map. I had no idea it was this extensive, it’s basically a nationwide lockdown with exception of a few sparse states.

Sweden is open for business. There's no evidence that lockdowns actually make much of a difference.

Sweden has a low population density: 64 people per sq mi.
Compare that to the entire United States, including Alaska, Wyoming and Montana: 94 people per sq. mi.
Stockholm: 13,000 people per sq, mi.
New York City: 27,000 people per sq. mi.
So yes, statistically a lockdown in Sweden should make less difference than here.

When determining when to open up you need consider the cost of NOT opening up, not just deaths by the virus.
AS unemployment rises so does death from drug use, suicide, depression, crime, spouse abuse, death from alcoholism, child abuse.
