We know that coronavirus death counts are being inflated - we just don't know by how much. After all, how could they not be when there is a financial incentive for states and municipalities to report deaths as coronavirus deaths? And for some states, there may even be a political incentive...

Which is why it shouldn't come as a total surprise when a man who suffered a fatal motorcycle accident in Florida last week was added to the state's Covid-19 death count.

Wonder if George Floyd was listed as covid death. He tested positive for the virus.

It's very likely COVID deaths are being under reported according to the CDC. It's not surprising networks continue to talk down the severity of COVID. First it was a hoax, then there was an impending miracle, then there was over-reporting, and now it's a violation of your rights. I don't know why all the excuses. Just be honest and say you don't care about others, you are too weak/stubborn to social distance and wear a mask, or +1 million American deaths will be a small price to pay for you to socialize at a bar.

Florida has been trying to hide their horrific COVID numbers for months. A person who tests positive in Florida is counted only once while negative tests are counted repeatedly when a person gets more than one test. Even then, Florida has a +35% positivity rate. Florida is a prime example of how not to handle a pandemic. You can make an argument for the economy, but the way it's being handled is downright negligent. You're not going to fix the economy if you try to sweep a disaster under the rug.

Someone doesn't wear a mask and develops symptoms of COVID such as a cough, aches, fever. It takes 3-7 days to get back a test result, and in that time they are moving about not wearing a mask and spreading the virus. By the time they are notified they are positive, they've already infected others or family. What's worse, many of these people say "it's just a slight fever and a cough" and refuse to quarantine because "it's against my rights". I've seen it personally and it's disgusting.

Here in Washington State everyone wears a mask now. Once you've done it a few times, you start to instinctively put one on whenever you go inside a business. Everyone does it and few cry about it on tiktok and twitter.

Wearing mask in company of others is not a big burden. And should be followed to protect others from you.
I am practicing social distancing, and therefore all I need to do is not touch face with unwashed hands. This has worked great so far.

I personally know 2 people who have the dreadful disease, and one who passed from it. Many say its fake, many say its man made... Some even say its God sent. I will note debate any of this. But what I will do is tell you it is very real, and to some both young and old it is very deadly. I ask you to respect other's even if you have doubts of any kind. I hope this passes and we return to life as we once knew it. I also hope we return to a loving Nation who cares about all of its inhabitants as it once was. But most of all I hope this disease does not touch your family... or anyone you know.

pdx5:  I don't get why you're so against wearing a mask especially when others are protecting you by wearing one?  It is kinda like my 100 year old mother.

She knows she is supported to go up to the door, look down on both sides to see the walker is square in the opening, and then go through.

Yet she persists in Not stopping and looking and just going through the opening.     When she fell and broke her hip she got a wakeup call.

Guess it is like the old adage about hitting a mule beween the eyes.   You first have to get its attention.  My2Cents

Haha where did you read I am opposed to masks ?
I think masks should be a mandate 60 days at a time, to be adjusted based on actual data.

Then I owe you an apology.  From my readings of your posts it appeared you were anti-mask.

We're definitely in agreement on the above quote.

The last point I'd like to make is no matter what is posted on this forum regarding COVID

(statistical curves, etc.) -- or -- what the President and his followers say or don't say,

any forecast as to what this virus will do or won't do is a SWAG (Scientific Wild A** Guess).

The medical community is trying their best, based on past historical estimates, to give the

best current information possible.   But just like the flu vaccine we receive each year,

no one knows for sure what strains will really be active in the upcoming year --

THE VIRUS IS IN CHARGE !

Having grown up in virus infected country, what I know for sure is that the best defense against any virus, and especially a brand new virus for which no vaccine exists, is to keep your immune system in top shape. That means eat nutritious food, avoid alcohol and tobacco, exercise 5 times every week, get some sun or take vitamin D, 7.5 hours minimum sleep. When kept in top shape, our bodies are our best friend to fight viruses. At age 80, I refuse to live locked up in my basement, and the treadmill everyday is beyond amazing to keep me healthy and fit.
