"Nomura says a U.S. unit may have a $2B loss due to a U.S. client

Nomura Holdings Inc. (NYSE:NMR) said an an event occurred that could subject one of its U.S. subsidiaries to a "significant loss" arising from transactions with a U.S. client.
The estimated amount of the claim against the client is approximately $2b based on market prices as of March 26, according to a statement from the Japanese bank.
Nomura didn't identify the name of the U.S. client.
Nomura also announced that it has reached an agreement with the underwriters of the U.S. dollar senior notes priced on March 23, 2021, to cancel the issuance due to an event that occurred after pricing that could impact the companys consolidated financial results.
Earlier, Archegos Capital was forced to sell more than $20B in stocks on Friday."
