Closed some VXX LONG positions too early but I did not want to hold hedge LONGS in a market moving down swiftly.  It complicates the trading in fast moving markets but of course you do lose some profit or profit potential if market rallies from oversold LOWS.

Trading is tiring ! Always has been, but even more during the past few weeks - April & May

 

Best NQ day in a long time, could have been better but my 2 NQ HEDGE LONG during the first hour or so effectively reduced my SHORT NQ DAYTRADE position sizes by those 2 lots during the early part of today's session.

That's my system so go to follow it and hedges have been very profitable recently. Good profits also in SPY & DIA PUTS and also in VXX long and VXX calls. Losses in NQ HEDGE LONGs. 

 

Key level is ES 4180; as I did last week, I will open ES HEDGE LONG  if market trades above this with bullish price action on 5m & 15m chart.

1 ES HEDGE LONG 4178.5 (did not want to open this but I held off from original entry at 4195 when markets fell quickly and decided to add it near the end of session)

That daily NQ CANDLE looks bullish but NQ moves quickly and trades in big hourly ranges so it can traverse 300-point ranges in less an hour or two. 

 

I am hedging with NQ long since NQ has lagged recently but today was much stronger.

Monday, May 10 saw 713 NYSE stocks post new 52-week intraday highs (i.e. as opposed to closing prices, that's how this is measured). This is an all-time record. Such spikes can mark short term exhaustion events, but "major" price tops usually see a divergence in the NH numbers.
