I have been using the MACD of NYUD as a "simple" way to observe potential T's.

I thought it might be informative to superimpose AAII weekly sentiment to the same daily chart.

Check out the lower indicator box to see the result.

(Please note that NYUD close is almost always corrected later.)

EDIT: They finally updated it from -2691 to -579.)

Note also: It looks like the late January fear extreme "saved" the projected end of the early Feb. T.

CNN:

"Investors are very scared even with stocks near record highs"

The CNN Business Fear & Greed Index, which looks at seven different measures of market sentiment, is showing signs of Extreme Fear. Four of the seven indicators are in bearish territory.

Rodgerdodger, you can go to wsj.com/market-data/stocks/marketsdiary pretty soon after the close and get the "correct" values for the NYSE Adv volume and Decl volume which are the top values bearing this label in the NYSE list provided.  Apparently stockcharts.com initially grabs the values with this same label at the bottom of the NYSE list which I'm guessing is some sort of total of on-exchange and off-exchange trading (??).  You have to eyeball them onto the stockcharts.com plot, but at least it will keep you from jumping to some incorrect conclusions based on their initial, usually much larger bogus numbers.

Regards,

Douglas

That's the good thing about my old age senility.  It helps me forget just how bone lazy I truly am.  If I could just remember where I put those danged keys!

Douglas
