however it is possible that the day after the election the American stock market opens 2% lower and then starts a strong durable rally. We already saw that 8 years ago.

Yeah... somewhere between 2 and 20 percent sounds about right.
Then the election and seasonal cavalry ride in and save the day. Will they clear the overhead resistance, or will gold rally alongside?
