I don't trade RSO. I am a bull just like Da-Chief. He said 1473 is next. I believe him.

I'm for one glad you guys are staying long here. I'm short and will continue to be short 2.5X inverse Bear fund until the 10-day OEX Put/Call goes to or below 1.40. At that time I will review position and the internals of next weeks sell-off....

I bought AMD off the test of the 14.80 swing low from 1/11/05... today for a trade... we'll see.

Folks, We don't beat up on ANYONE for being wrong here. And, if for some reason you think that someone deserves it (and I'm talking about more than the kidding some occasionally deserve/beg for), well you're wrong. The thing is that when you beat up on someone, it deters someone else from posting their trade ideas or analysis. That's death to our site and what we're trying to accomplish. Furthermore, what good can possibly come of such? Making a life long enemy who's just waiting for you to step in it when it's your turn? Show a little respect to not just your fellow members, but the spirit of what we're all about. Mark

The difference is, da Chief claims to be long from 1095. And he doesn't make any new long trades from these levels. So I guess he can't be wrong can he?

IT

Da_Chief also has stated he takes short positions from time to time, hedging off his big contract long trade... Point is, there's more to his trade than just buy and hold. Implied in that, should the market hits XD's target, Da_Chief is still making money.

Gary, Thanks for the post. I used to look at the subject to determine if I will read the post. Now I look at the poster's name to see if I will read the post. The number of poster's I read has been shrinking. You, IYB, Tuff88, Hiker and a few others are on the list. I hope you are enjoying life. Get out and take a hike. I got an RV and went out west to hike some of the great national parks we have in the USA. I've retired at 53 and gone the passive route of investing.

Thanks Dex and hope you have a long and productive retirement. Even though I spend some time on an almost daily basis at a National Park nearby, I am not enjoying life one bit sitting in front of this computer every market day forever adjusting my positions. But that all changes in April when I turn 60. Then I will join you in retirement spending more time pursuing my other passions in life such as hiking and exploring wilderness areas throughout this beautiful country. Then again, if this bull is still running in April, may have to wait until it runs its course. The one complaint I hear from retirees is they wish they had saved more for retirement.

I presume you directed this at me, without naming me.

As such, I think it was misdirected.

You don't see what is invisible, IT. ;)

Not particularly directed at you, IT. Just a warning/reminder to all, especially those who don't see their posts anymore.

Gary,
One of the greatest things I did for myself was to keep track of my spending and preparing a budget for retirement. I don't have any debt - the house is paid for in full - I'm single My budget is basically as follows:

$20,000 - Basic living expenses - food, clothing, insurance, house costs, gas, minor entertainment etc.
$20,000 - Discretionary spending - travel, education, hobbies etc.
$ 5,000 - amortized expenses - car replacement, appliance replacement, other repairs etc.

$45,000 total - I could spend more and I might very well spend more than this and still have money at my death. I'm being conservative in the first few years of my retirement because I'm new to it. I do not feel deprived in any way and am enjoying life. No pension, social security and my nest egg.

I could have continued to work at a very easy and well paying job but I decided that life is more important than the extra money.

Good luck on your retirement plans.

outsider---Only 2 distribution days for Nasdaq and only 2 for the S&P500. For me it takes 5 distribution days in 4 weeks to get a sell signal. Or as a fail-safe 7% off the highest close. Or a close undercutting the low of Day 1 of the rally. (day 1, not the follow-through day. With Gary getting bearish it is something to think of though, but I will still follow my methodoligy. Gary---Have a great time in your 30+ years of upcoming retirement. Can be as active or inactive a trader or investor as you want. It must be great to be able to retire by just slowing down what you like doing anyway. So enjow it. You have earned it.
