Either he wants to make sure he is not made the fall guy, or he wants a promotion. Think about it - if you are motivated and talented, will you join Washington?

The president can not spend a single dime on his own. The president can only propose a budget. In the US Constitution, the sole authority to spend is delegated to the congress. So, now we have an accumulated national debt of 9 Trillion. And that will be paid by FUTURE taxpayers. But the news is actually worse than that. We have UNFUNDED obligations due to promised entitlements (Social Security, Medicare etc) to CURRENT wage earners of $40 Trillion. And that account keeps growing by each passing day. The number I recall is every person in the US owes $175,000 in unfunded liabilities.
