XD is a good trader. Yes, he may be too vocal in his bearishness, but he is not a permanent bear nor bull. Whether he is going to be right or wrong, I think he knows what he is doing. Da-Chief is another story.

people are people... Also, hedge funds may well be a great segment to watch when they are small, but big hedge funds and programmers and institutions, well, they ARE the market, not some fadable segment.

Now, all that said, we've been nibbling at Buy territory for 3 weeks. It took 9 weeks to actually get the rally going last summer.

All the sentiment segments matter, but they had all better be set up for a buy before you probe any sort of serious decline.

Mark

67% out of the market.....just like last june....... :P

Let see....Program Trading....Hedge funds trading.....Insitutions trading......All add up to 95% of the trading and you are looking at AAII for market directions?.....Give me a break.....

Evidently, some folks think he's their personal punching bag. He's not and you need to cut it out. Don has said he doesn't post his short-term stuff here so you have no idea what he does vs. his long term hold.

Be fair.

I think that egos and thin skins take precedence for some people. And, geez -- even that sounds critical. :( Don't think it has (?) to be that way, but it always is that way. I'm sorry about that. Doug

The moderators and I deal with plenty, but believe me when I say that Don is NOT specially favored-- or at least no more favored than any other of our long time contributors. I think I am correct when I say that we are unanimous in our assessment that the snide and ongoing attacks have exceeded any reasonably acceptable level and are now a detriment to our community (we've actually been discussing this as a major problem). So you can think we're showing special favoritism, but I can tell you that we're all just trying to keep our community a decent place. Remember, you don't see what we moderate. We have to moderate a lot. Mark
