draw the now broken downtrend line on the multi-year weekly and the breakout signal provided weeks ago will be clear..weekly in this link -

http://stockcharts.c...llery.html?CMGI

the breakout was noted at other TA boards in recent weeks... few stocks are discussed at TT...CMGI is widely discussed elsewhere as a profitable trader

If you look at the second chart in hiker's link.....CMGI has gone nowhere in three years....Me thinks she reached the objective of two bucks....

so Paul, I assume you are suggesting selling on strength and not risking it moving back below the new near-term rising bottoms trendline? higher highs and higher lows prevail since summer 2006...there are some relatively new fundy drivers now in play.... Paul..you suggest selling here? how much more upside do you estimate may be forgone for the sake of managing the fear that a stock in a rising trend lasting for months may suddenly reverse at perceived resistance? since you chimed in here, wondering how you actually consider the risk of leaving a profitable long trade too early?

Hiker it is just a measured move..... 1.5 minus 1equals 0.5 ......2 times 0.5 is 1 .....you add 1 to it, the objective is 2 bucks.....just basic TA....

so, you make that the priority consideration for exiting a long trade having a rising price trend, when no sign of weakness is evident? you are recommending as a trading strategy: anticipation that the rising price trend will reverse at the measured move price target?

Hiker, I guess the question is, is it crap? If it is, you dump it the second it loses momentum or at a measured move. If it isn't, you try to manage your risk so you can ride it as long as possible. Personally, I've no opinion. I did almost own $1MM worth of it. The only reason I didn't was that in 2000 my client and I couldn't figure out an acceptable way to insure our shares' value (it was letter stock and couldn't be sold for a couple years). M

If it can be cornered, it will.
