That straw bail house is a neat little cottage. I'm not sure the elderly could handle that bunk-bed type ladder to get to the second floor very well.
Of course, we can't be having all those millions and millons of apartment dwelling city renters flocking out of the city into the country and building separate houses or the environment will take a pounding no matter what the homes are made of.
I prefer to do it the way some politicians and movie stars do it. Live in a mansion be a globe trotter in a private jet, and tell others they need to sacrifice (while they gourge themselves on the planets resources).

I still love the hybrid house shown in the DVD ... it's a work of art ... not a slapped together mish mash of particle board. The amount of careful thought and attention to detail is inspiring.
