Gas prices skyrocketing

It wasn't long ago (weeks) that we were paying about 2.39 for unleaded. It has risen sharply to over $2.85/gal in a very short timeframe. It was $2.56 last week. As far as I know oil hasn't risen that sharply in the same time period. Perhaps it is the switch to summer blends, but I haven't ever seen this type of an increase in such a short period. :( Hurts the pocketbook.

the cheapest i've seen in san jose is like $3.18 for regular.
