As the expression about Wyoming goes....Like no place on Earth. Definitely, a must-see.

Don,

this photo of the Snake River with the Tetons in the background was taken 10 days ago,
and is just below Jackson Lake at the north end of Teton Park...

it is a pristine part of the Park, and Triangle X dude ranch is not far from here
if you ever want to experience that part of WY -

esther - glad you enjoy these.

the best thing about spring wildlife viewing so far has been a large flock of Sandhill Cranes in flight yesterday, over the Salt River.

Nearby are many trumpeter swans, and they are having young. Will send some photos one day. So far, just enjoying them.

sandhills have a 79 inch wingspan -

hey esther....I grew up in this area. when I was age 5 and 6, the bear and bison were always on the banks of the Firehole River in Yellowstone where my family spent nearly every trout fishing opener in May. it is important we never take our natural treasures for granted, because money talks more than the desire to preserve the wild areas. we now have wolves and moose tromping around where the houses are, because the habitat is scarce. the population growth in Idaho, WY and MT is now at an alarming rate relative to the past...the habitat will be limited only to the wilderness areas and parks soon. funny story...the Governor of TN has a vacation home out here...just below his hillside home, a den of wolves were raised last spring in a den dug into the bank.

Selecto, that's an incredible picture too. Hiker, now I'm even more envious. lol Glad you are all sharing these pictures. Not quite the same as being there, I know. But refreshing to the soul anyway. Much thanks.
