Has there been any correlation between gasoline prices and crude
Haven't gasoline prices had much bigger gains in 2007 - think I read that gasoline prices had risen by 38 per cent in 2007

Relax, of course there is correlation between oil and gas prices, but it still can vary widely, as the ratio has in the past few months. Gasoline was up about 80% since the mid-January low, for the futures.Relax DK: Haven't gasoline prices had much bigger gains in 2007 - think I read that gasoline prices had risen by 38 per cent in 2007
From a week and a half ago:
Since last fall gas has really gained on oil, as a ratio.

Just shows how looking at crude does not necessarily give the right picture of people's reality
But I guess gasoline prices will come down as they do every year around the end of may

One wonders.... If nothing else I'd say that eventually the refinery outages will clear up enough that a more normal relationship between crude oil and refined gasoline will exist. Of course, oil could go up; gas doesn't have to come down.
There's a fair bit of refining capacity in the Gulf Coast area too, and here we are about to embark on another hurricane season....
