Today was a key reversal on the NDX. Period!. Do what you want with that info. It is fact though. If others believe differently then they are making sh%t up or don't know what they are typing about.

One of those links, shows a chart that is marked with a key reversal that isn't.

According to the definition from the post above: The RUT put in a key reversal that is not outside, as today's close is above yesterday's low, but we did make a new high and close near the low (i.e., it is a key reversal). The DOW has an outside key reversal, with a higher high and close near the low (key reversal) and the close is below yesterday's low (outside day), hence, outside key reversal, although, just barely qualifying. The SPX is a key reversal that is not outside, because todays close is just a few cents above yesterday's low. All 4 indexes have key reversals to the down side, and 2 of them our outside key reversals to the down side. (I used StockCharts to see the patterns.)

In order to be a Key reversal only two things need to be present but BOTH need to be there OK. In this case a high. 1) the price makes a new high for the move. Check on the ndx. 2) the price needs to close BELOW the previous days LOW. check on the NDX. No other index did this today. Only key reversal on an index that I saw was the NDX. That is why I posted.

It's a key reversal on a daily chart.

No, it's not, as you're missing two items that qualify this bar pattern as being one of "key".

The surprising thing here is that you started your thread by saying "These have not worked in the recent past when calling a top" and then you go on to say that "I know what a key reversal is". Could it be then that it's not the pattern that hasn't worked for you, but the pattern, in fact, doesn't have all of the qualifications that make a "Key Reversal" just that - "KEY" - and you've simply been misinterpreting the forecast??

It's a simple outside range day...nothing more. If you want to know what's missing this time around, you can bring it up for discussion.

If not, that's OK too.

You sir, are incorrect. Today was a key reversal day on the NDX. For the last time. A key reversal (in the case of pointing out a potential top formation) is when price makes a new high for the move and closes below the previous days low. That's it and that's what occured. You can type till tomorrow that I'm wrong but you would be the one who is. B)

What praytell are the two points I'm missing?
