We operate a small internet business (gourmet coffee). We have changed nothing, but in the month of May we had more credit card failed charge authorizations than in the whole of the preceding 3 years.

Not to mention the Steakhouise Index.

In 1929 the public was assured that the economy was sound, the stock market had reached permanent new plateaus, and there is nothing to worry about.

I'm not a believer in people being able to predict the next great collapse but I do know that when government officials tell me that "the economy is sound" they may not know what the hell they are talking about when it comes to if we are on the edge of a deep recession or not.

In the end we retain from our studies only that which we practically apply.
