Ive been looking at the vix indicator for the past 100 years. it is at 100 year lows now, seen only in 7 occassions during that period!!!
What gives? leverage is amazing and maybe risk has been taken out of the system.

i am reading a piece of research by RBC. I can email you a copy if you like. Its a pdf. I am not sure which data they use.
