Sadly not available in the uk until later this year and cant import due to compatibility of network.

I am not 100% certain on this but i believe all web pages need to be remade to work with this. I heard this from a web designer but it may have been drunken talk

Who cares whether it works? Once I get my iphone, I'll be one stylin' dude -- and the chicks'll be all over me:

I use this:

Cingular 8525

Its much much much better than the iPhone for those that want a real PDA phone. Why?

1) replaceable battery
2) full SDK means 3rd party app (tons out there)
3) full j2me compatibility (tons out there)
4) 3G instead of EDGE
5) full windows compatibility
6) slide out keyboard
7) expandable memory
8) quick access keys
9) cheaper than iphone

does everything iPhone does

1) wifi built in
2) 2mp camera w/video (iphone has no video)
3) bluetooth 2.0 A2DP (for stereo headphones)
4) touch screen (but not high resolution)
5) decent battery life (7 hrs talk time)
6) mp3 player, video player, etc, and I can choose from tons of different 3rd party apps that do this, not limited to iphone stuff

Still, the iphone looks cool. They make it sound revolutionary, but its really evolutionary, and sort of behind the curve.

Beware...Investing in AAPL stock may turn out to be problematic over time. A lot of companies, mine included, have made the decision at the IT level not to support the Apple product at the corporate level. Too much money already tied up in Blackberry. This thing has to be "heads and shoulders" above the comp or will strangle a slow death. They need corporate support. U.F.O.

NYTIMES:
Apple says that the battery starts to lose capacity after 300 or 400 charges. Eventually, you’ll have to send the phone to Apple for battery replacement, much as you do now with an iPod, for a fee.
The bigger problem is the AT&T network. In a Consumer Reports study, AT&T’s signal ranked either last or second to last in 19 out of 20 major cities. My tests in five states bear this out. If Verizon’s slogan is, “Can you hear me now?” AT&T’s should be, “I’m losing you.”

Then there’s the Internet problem. When you’re in a Wi-Fi hot spot, going online is fast and satisfying.

But otherwise, you have to use AT&T’s ancient EDGE cellular network, which is excruciatingly slow. The New York Times’s home page takes 55 seconds to appear; Amazon.com, 100 seconds; Yahoo. two minutes. You almost ache for a dial-up modem.

These drawbacks may be deal-killers for some people.
