What has just hit AA ? for 2.5 points ? I don't see any news.

News at Noon goosed the futures a bit, and we have Fed mtg minutes at 2pm. The Fed news release has initiated volatility in the markets the last few months. A push thru 1566 ES should hit enough stops to get to the 1570 level, and then we can see what happens after 2:30pm.

I agree. That's my thinking too.

BHP Billiton Not Considering Alcoa Bid-Report

LONDON (Dow Jones)--BHP Billiton PLC (BHP) won't make a bid for U.S. aluminum giant Alcoa Inc. (AA), The Australian newspaper reports in its Friday edition.
Citing unnamed sources, the newspaper says Alcoa is no longer a target of interest for the miner.
BHP spokesman Illtud Harri declined to comment on the report.
Analysts have speculated BHP would buy Alcoa after Rio Tinto PLC (RTP) last week made a $38.1 billion for Canada's Alcan (AL).
"But BHP never even got close to making a pitch for Pittsburgh's king of the light metal," The Australian says.
The paper says BHP is considering other takeover targets.
