OK, I can't tell if the Ruts is saying that the S&P is a Buy or if the RUT's just a short. Or if it's a short and the S&P's a long... It's telling us SOMETHING, however. :lol:

Interesting that the trading of the Russell will be changing to ICE. Might be affecting trading.

I think it all goes back to the issue of hedge funds needing to liquidate and using their more liquid large cap holdings to do so. They kill the generals last. The privates are getting ready for the next battle even as the generals fall.

i think the rut has made its price low and needs to be tested. Its secondary test will be the price low for the spx and ndx.

this has been my thinking for days - however i think its neither - at this point i think its all about what's caused the damage - so when financials and/or housing (xlf, bkx, xbd, hgx) become a buy, so will the market

You may be right. NORMALLY, relative strength in the RUT is bullish, but now I think it's all short-covering. And they are raising cash in more liquid issues.
