My "value trap", NRO is back in the black, plus a dividend. It doesn't matter, of course, because I'm hoping for a handsome long term gain and some nice dividends. I'm not going to sell it here and I'm open to more selling, actually. Certainly, not exactly a quick home run, but then it's not supposed to be. Just a value investment. This is just a follow up, for those who were paying attention to the discussion. Mark

Mark, you made a similar trade some time ago with SLE if memory serves, which seemed to work well...I remember your remarks about a div. paying you to hold it and give the trade time.

Yup. I was beginning to lose patience, so I bought a little bit more. Then they spun off Hanes and that helped a lot. I still hold both, actually. Not rich enough to dump. The trick to decent value investing is a) pick companies you know a little bit about and that are well established, B) wait until they are down and their sector is out of favor, c) let them build a base, d) double check the financials for soundness, and e) DIVERSIFY. You understand that I'm not averse to hedging, but since my bias is to be a Bear, I always need to be planning on being wrong. Mark

I don't really expect Greenie to honor us with his appearance and tell us where he has his stops. So far he's under water on his "full position", and on top of that owes us some dividend ;)

ogm, I don't want to rub it in. Also, it really is trivial, either way. I would expect to be up or down a little bit on this one. That's what's happened. I don't think greenie will be down a lot on the short itself for a while. It's those darned divvies that add up. And note, if you keep making mouth on it, the market gods will make him right and you and I will have to figure out whether to double up or dump. :o  I guess the point was that so far, it's acting as expected. I wanted folks to know that it wasn't falling apart and that I hadn't blown it off. Mark
