Not sure what's going on here, but just like low tide something smells fishy. TRIN is very high and DOW index put buying is "too" strong. Anyone? Just playing it "safe" at the the downtrend line? mm

DOW index puts buying was very strong yesterday also. It was almost 10 to 1. What is the average?

I cant tell you what the average is i watch the daily shift instead. Yesterday's surge was above normal and so far today the put buying continues. mm

Someone hedging large long positions in dow stocks ? Or some hedgehogs betting on the end of the world again ?

Just in case old news is any interest. The DJX P/Cs were as follows: Nominal 0.88 $-weighted 1.14 Normal as far as I can tell. Neutral readings.

note at 1:30 PM EST time yesterday - near the lows of the day - there was a sudden pick up in DOW index call buying which accelerated into the close. mm
