Completely agree with NAV pissed me off to hear people saying "oh this was abvious in the technicals" we were in crash mode as i see it and would not have seen the technical reversal without the fed move after the reversal is made one would make a good point saying that the move up until today was in the cards just look at how the bottom was made in march 2003 - same as last week

That kind of move wasn't on ANYBODY's charts.

I was scared, but charts said market was about to reverse.

Nope. Didn't see that big of a move coming, BUT I did see a low right in that zone, right off that target level. All the sentiment said so and I and many others knew that the Fed was going to do SOMETHING. When they did it, it was going to be big. I just didn't have the fuzzy kiwis to weather the volatility before the obvious, high odds explosion higher. That's the trick. Those who can see it coming need to be scared out of positioning for it. It worked. FWIW, here's the letter I put out on my birth day. Guardian Checklist for Thursday 8/16/07 Published Wednesday 8/15/07 by Mark S. Young , President of Equity Guardian Group, LLC. Investment Management & Research *************************************** Intermediate-term Outlook (weeks): Seasonal Cycle: Negative. Coppock Breadth Indicator: Negative. The CBI was down 0.7 to 232.5, 2.3 beneath the exponential. Way oversold. Weekly MACD: Negative. Bull/Bear Market Indicator: Bull. Iffy. Conclusion: We are still in a Cyclical Bull Market, barely. The Seasonal Cycle is negative. The Weekly MACD is Negative. Short/Intermediate-Term NYSE Cumulative A/D Volume: Negative. ITBM: Negative. Summation: Negative. KTT*: Neutral. Pending Buy. CCI Daily: Buy. 10-day ARMS: Neutral. MACD Daily: Negative. 21-day MA: Negative. Conclusion: Shorts are favored. We are very oversold, however, so care is warranted on the short side. It's almost time to shut our eyes and do a bit of buying. Short-term Stochastic Turn Spotter: Pending Buy. VIX 30': Negative. MACD 60': Negative. Moving Averages: Negative. Watch the 1445-1456 area. Conclusion: Shorts are favored, but watch for a more serious rally to begin at any time. ******************************* Last time, I said that we had to allow for a crash, or even just a hard shot down, perhaps to our targets near 1400, but I was thinking that weakness would be bought and that there was a good chance for a sharp rally to make some options guys well. I'd say that it's now or never. We've got a new record Relative VIX, and that's telling us that it's about time to look long. We've also had about a 10% correction and that's usually good for at least a good bounce too. We are flirting with my targets now in GLOBEX, as well. We may need one real scare. Probably tomorrow, then they'll reverse it and if we see volume, we ought to get aggressive. My downside target zone is ES1378-1402. This from the night of the 14th. Guardian Checklist for Wednesday 8/15/07 Published Tuesday 8/14/07 by Mark S. Young , President of Equity Guardian Group, LLC. Investment Management & Research *************************************** Intermediate-term Outlook (weeks): Seasonal Cycle: Negative. Coppock Breadth Indicator: Negative. The CBI was down 0.8 to 233.1, 1.9 beneath the exponential. Weekly MACD: Negative. Bull/Bear Market Indicator: Bull. Conclusion: We are still in a Cyclical Bull Market. The Seasonal Cycle is negative. The Weekly MACD is Negative. Short/Intermediate-Term NYSE Cumulative A/D Volume: Negative. ITBM: Negative. Summation: Negative. KTT*: Neutral. Pending Buy. CCI Daily: Buy. 10-day ARMS: Neutral. MACD Daily: Negative. 21-day MA: Negative. Conclusion: Shorts are favored. We are oversold, however, so care is warranted on the short side. Short-term Stochastic Turn Spotter: Neutral. Pending Buy. VIX 30': Negative. MACD 60': Negative. Moving Averages: Negative. Watch the 1457-1461 area. Conclusion: Shorts are favored, but watch for a sharp bounce at any time. ******************************* Last time, I said that the failure in the Russell was about what we expected, but a bit early and that the lack of relative strength was a warning for the market at large. I didn't think that the market would get killed this week (it hasn't yet), but it was and is possible. We have to allow for a crash here, or even just a hard shot down, perhaps to our targets near 1400. BUT, I'm thinking that weakness will be bought and that there's a good chance for a sharp rally to make some options guys well. The Relative VIX is way up there and that's usually a good buy. Also, the Equity P/C is very high, while the OEX is rather low. That's a strong bullish sign, too. All we need is some price support. My downside target zone is ES1378-1402. I'm thinking that we get there. KTT traders are flat.
