oh exactly, but you cannot put a price on those.  WHat IFs dont work with these people.  But they should just be respectable enough to give us SOMETHING.  10 free traders for example, just as an apology.  Nav, what do you use?

I use Tradestation mostly (when it's working :P ). I also have an account with IB, which i use as a backup.

I like IB's reliability. But it's just a order routing platform. I can't create trading strategies or build custom indicators with IB, which i can do with Tradestation.

Whose trading charts u like better?
What other indicators u use which IB does not provide?

My system is back up. Btw, Tradestation is one of the most reliable systems there. How often do you get trade server outage during the day ? Maybe once a year if not less.

This is the reason why I advise folks to ALWAYS put a stop in IMMEDIATELY. Even if you don't know where to put one, just get a disaster stop in, just in case it goes down right when something happens (which is always the way). The one exception is GLOBEX. You just have to watch or keep the position small enough that you don't care about taking a hit too much. Mark

Exactly. It is completely unacceptable to be without a trade server for an hour, especially for "maintenance". I have have problems with this platform on a consistent basis, approx. 1 time every 6 weeks. The last time, they were having issues with stop limits. I lost substantial money those days because the orders didnt execute and the best they did was refund my commission for that day. Didnt even come close to making up for the missed opportunity.

It's been down for the last hour or so. Thank god, i have another platform to trade.

TradeStation.com is temporarily unavailable
due to a maintenance update.

Maintenance updates in the middle of the trading day ? Don't these people have redundant servers ?

I have had significant problems with tradestation. Today when CNBC had the Dow down 36, T.S. had it up 18. Now how can you trade that? It freezes and also does not keep up with real time, not to mention glitches on orders. But changing is a hassle. Just haven't done it yet. Keep waiting on them to repair it.

I got a message there were technical problems it came back online now is out again. Anyone besides me having problems?

Thanks!

I have used TS for years. Love their charts and drawing capability. However, the software is truly a pig when the markets gets busy. Because of that they will never see my trading account which I keep at another broker. At least I can trade when it gets busy.

If they ever came out with a light version of the software without all of squirrelly stuff then perhaps my computer would have enough power left to trade real time. Until then, no way I would trust a trading account with them.

Sooner or later some vendor will give me what I want, not what they think I need, and then that will be the end of TS.
