my dog took the spray directly in the eyes and face today while we were mountain biking...

we are going to find out if this deodorizer recipe works...so far so good after first washing -

this chemist says tomato juice does not work completely, and has a better idea that we just tried.

I hope your dog is okay. The key thing is to rinse and rinse.... up until recently we all thought that skunk spray was just smelly, but in the past few years there has been confirmation of severe anemia in dogs following skunk spray. Usually happens a few days after exposure and is quite serious. mm

Hi Hiker.
Did you try the Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda?
If so what were the results?

To get rid of the odor of skunk spray, it is necessary to change the thiols into compounds that have little or no odor. This can easily be done by oxidizing the thiols to sulfonic acids. Many oxidizing agents can effect this change. Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) are mild enough to be used on pets.
