A year or so ago, One taxi driver said he had moved there a year earlier but couldn't afford a house.
But sadly he lamented that a year later the prices had doubled and he was really locked out.
Another owned a mobile home which was increasing in value.
A third owned a home and had made more money in appreciation than he was making working.
However this year our waiter at Wynn said:
"I'm glad I didn't buy a house. Vegas is the #1 foreclosure city. Home sales are dead."
From the North end of the strip, I could see 14 building cranes scattered about building casinos and condos.
This shot is from the airport at the South end of the strip. A few more cranes can be seen here...along with even more new condos.
And this is just the strip. There is an actual city somewhere in there with with zillions of new homes.
What a difference a year makes.
PS: Here's a photo of wifey and I when we first got to Vegas.
I didn't take one when we left. Had to hock the camera.
