The Rasmussen Consumer Index dropped two points today to 107.6. Today's Index is around the same level as it was a week ago. The Index is also up nearly three points from a month ago and matches its reading three months ago today. Nationally, 18% believe the U.S. economy is getting better these days. Meanwhile, 60% think conditions in the country are getting worse; 17% feel conditions have remained about the same. After rebounding a point yesterday, the Rasmussen Investor Index slipped nearly three points on Thursday to 125.2. That's also down a little over three points from a week ago. The Index is, however, slightly over two points above its reading a month ago. Investors are slightly more optimistic on the state of the economy. Twenty-two percent (22%) feel economic conditions in the country are getting better, while 55% think the economy is worsening.

I don't find that bearish-just reality. When you consider the inequality of wealth in this country, percentages sound about right. Lets face it, when you lose your $25 an hour manufacturing job-and get one in the service industry for 8 or 9 bucks an hour, things ARE getting worse for you.
