Maybe a buying opp, down 35% today, down to 290p as I write.

A mortgage lender, liquidity problems.

Northern Rock. Many reports over the weekend press of people quing outside the bank to get their money out asap!! Wow its like 1906 again!!!

pictures of the worried folks in line trying to get their money back were all over the morning news shows. this is something i have talked and warned about here and elsewhere for months. just one incdent will not cause widespread panic, bt if we/they have a few more of tese it will seep into the generl mindset and any slight rumor will be taken seriously and acted upon. this is JUST THE BEGINNING of the loss in confidence in the current monetary and currency regimes. the embarassing emissions of once-highly-touted greenspan are very harmful.
