While playing with my new MagicJack UBS telephone, I saw a link to Google's Beta Version of "Grand Central"

Supposedly, eventually, you can get one local phone number which will link all of your phones and pdas etc.
You can also provide a link on a webpage which will dial your number without showing it to the viewer.
You have to apply for a reservation to get in on the Beta trial.
It is not available nation-wide, as of now.

Google To Acquire GrandCentral
The basic idea around GrandCentral is "one phone number for all your phones, for life." As we change jobs, homes and cell phones, there are a lot of phone numbers to keep track of, and keeping everyone up to date with your most recent phone numbers is a real cost. If you use GrandCentral you can give out a single phone number. What happens when that person calls that number depends on his/her relationship to you, and what you are doing at the time.

Also Google is coming out with competition for the I-phone eventually.
